HALO's military origins began in the Gulf War, where blast injuries were common and took many lives. A group of U.S. soldiers were inspired by their experiences serving overseas to invent a durable, adhesive chest seal that could withstand extreme climate conditions, like those they endured in the Middle East. While similar sealant agents existed, they weren't dependable and had numerous flaws. This idea led to the development of the original HALO SEAL.

Today, the U.S. military relies on HALO's life-saving SEALS for their resilient and revolutionary design. Our products extend beyond military use; anyone that may have to respond to a penetrating chest injury would benefit from having HALO on hand. HALO is ready to respond to the toughest situations, making it an ideal resource for emergency medical personnel, police officers, public institutions, or personal first-aid kits.

We have since added two new products to our line, HALO XL and HALO VENT, to continue offering the highest quality hydrophilic medical gel on the market.

All HALO products meet ISO 13485:2003 certification requirements.

All HALO products are licensed by Health Canada.

What People Are Saying

Officer Anderson applied a HALO SEAL to the victim who had a sucking chest wound. This effectively sealed the chest cavity... The victim was turned over to TFD in better condition than when the officers first encountered him. " – Tuscon Police Department
